The connection between a semi-trailer and a tractor truck

1. Before connecting, check and remove the surface of the tractor truck traction seat, the traction pin of the semi-trailer, and the traction pin plate, sand, dust, or other foreign objects, and check whether there is enough grease.

2. To connect smoothly, the supporting device should be operated to make the traction pin plate of the semi-trailer adapt to the height of the prime mover traction seat. Generally, the towing pin plate of the trailer is about 10-30 mm lower than the center position of the tractor truck's fifth wheel. Otherwise, sometimes it will not only fail to connect, but also damage the traction seat, traction pin, and related parts.

3. Operate the locking mechanism of the traction seat to open the locking block, and then check whether the locking block is opened to a free state.

4. Invert the tractor truck backward so that the traction pin of the semi-trailer enters the opening of the locking mechanism through the V-shaped opening IE1 of the traction seat and makes the locking block rotate, and the locking block and the traction pin are automatically locked.

5. Check whether the locking mechanism of the traction seat has locked the traction pin and whether the locking is safe and reliable.

6. Move the tractor truck forward slightly to check the connection.

Gas connection

1. Connect the two air connectors on the tractor truck to the two air connectors on the semi-trailer. Be careful not to connect them wrongly. The right side of the semi-trailer’s forward direction is the gas connector for the inflation pipeline (red), and the left side is the control pipeline. (Yellow) gas connector, the handshake is consistent with the color connection of the gas line.

2. After the air joints are connected, unscrew the semi-trailer air circuit connection disconnect switch on the tractor truck to make the air circuit in a ventilated state, otherwise the air cannot be supplied to the semi-trailer brake system, and the brake system will not work.

3. Start the engine, observe the barometer in the cab, and increase the pressure in the air storage tank of the CNG tractor truck and semi-trailer to the specified pressure (above 600kpa).

4. Check whether there is any air leakage in the air circuit and whether the braking system is working normally.

Circuit connection

1. Insert the cable connection plug of the tractor truck into the cable connection socket at the front of the semi-trailer.

2. Check whether the electrodes are well combined, and confirm whether the lights are working normally.

Separate

1. Try to choose a flat and firm ground to separate the tractor truck and semi-trailer. For example, when separating on soft ground, a hard board-like object should be placed under the support plate to prevent the support device from being unable to reconnect due to the sinking of the load.

2. Turn the parking brake wheel clockwise to apply the brakes fully.

3. The semi-trailer air circuit connection disconnect switch on the tractor truck should be turned off first, and then the inflation and control handshake of the tractor truck should be removed from the semi-trailer.

4. Manipulate the support device, make the support plate of the support device land on the ground, and continue to rotate the handle to lift the semi-trailer by 20-50mm to exit the tractor truck.

5. Operate the locking mechanism of the traction seat to open the locking block.

6. Slowly drive the tractor truck forward, separate the 4x2 tractor truck and the semi-trailer, and disengage the traction lock from the traction seat.

7. After separation, check whether there is any abnormality in each part of the semi-trailer, and unscrew the drain valve at the lower part of the air storage tank to discharge the accumulated water.
